Sypris Technologies manufacturing sites are ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 registered. Registrars include: TUV Rhineland and UL DQS, with oversight provided by The International Automotive Task Force (IATF).

ASME

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Certification. Required for the manufacture of pressure vessels. Certificate Number: 48,608. ASME Conformity Assessment Department / The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company.

PED

European Directive 2014/68/EU, Annex I, Par. 4.3. Required for the manufacture (forge and machining) of pressurized vessels. Registrar: TUV Rhineland.

AIAG Core Tools

Design and manufacturing tools utilized throughout the program life cycle that comply with the Automotive Industry Action Group and partner with our customers for ensuring Quality (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and PPAP).

Toyota provides direction and application of a proven approach for elimination of waste, continuous process improvement, and a culture of creating opportunity and value.

Advanced Problem Solving

Issue resolution methods such as A3, Eight-Discipline, and DOE support advanced problem solving, including the use of root cause analysis tools: Cause-and-Effect Diagrams, Five Whys, Histograms and other Six Sigma tools.

Prediction, testing, and validation

Metallurgical Capabilities

Metallurgical capabilities are demonstrated with both non-destructive testing for routine inspections (ultrasonic and magnetic particle) and destructive preliminary and verification testing for microstructure, case depth, grain structure, grain flow.

Metrology Capabilities

Metrology capabilities include Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Laser Scanning, automated cells with integrated dimensional inspection points including error proofing, and the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) for analysis of process and product capability.

Outside Testing

Third-party accredited laboratories are contracted as needed for specialized testing and in-house verifications.
